Surrender

The circumstances of life can make us sinners or saints
The response that we choose will determine our fate

Adversity can corrupt or better perfect us
A diamond in the rough can become a gem cutter’s most precious

Each time we yield to an often painful cut
The beauty revealed can help us grow through our rut

And what is discarded we will not miss
Because what now shines through is not our will but His.
